Hema Vadivelu has extensive retail background and has previously managed the American brand Liz Claiborne for 6 years as the Operations Manager under the umbrella of renowned retail company in Asia, The Melium Group. In addition to managing, operating & designing the marketing strategies for Liz Claiborne, she often traveled to New York to do the buys for the brand. Over and above this, she has also worked as Merchandising Manager for a leading department store which carries high-end fashion labels such as Vivienne Tam, Laundry, Song & Kelly, Country Road to name a few.
Professional dancer, Gayathri Vadivelu, makes up the other half of Fashion Works. She was a principal dancer with the renowned Sutra Dance Theatre gaining much exposure in the local dance scene. She then moved to London for several years to see and experience dance in other parts of the world whilst working as a professional dancer. Not only did she realize her dream to start her very own dance company back in Malaysia, but also living in one of the fashion capitals of the world, she was bitten by the fashion bug! Her love for eclectic, chic and trendy fashion styles was awakened. She had a dream and her dream was DIVE.
